One of the questions I get most often is how to combat hormonal imbalances, like acne. Here are my top 3 tips to help your body get into the state of balance (hormonal, mental and physiological)
1. Eat with your cycle, not against it. Add abundance and variety of fruits and veggies, especially leafy greens. They contain all the necessary micronutrients, as well as phytonutrients and flavonoids. Our bodies perform incomparably better when there are no nutrient deficiencies. I’ve been using the @28wellness app to get my daily hormone balancing nutrition insights personalized to where I am in my cycle for free!
2. Add omega to your diet. It’s very easy to get ALA omega but EPA and DHA can be somewhat problematic. Consider supplementing if needed as lacking in omega also contributes to imbalanced hormones.
3. Switch to non- toxic cosmetics and reduce plastic as much as possible! Phthalates, fragrance, PFOA, SLS and parabens can all act as hormone mimickers and confuse our bodies creating havoc!
