DATE PASTE & DATE SURYP
Healthiest sweetener out there! Follow @waytohealthkitchen for more healthy tips! Not only dates contain potassium, copper, manganese, magnesium, B6, niacin, phosphorus, calcium, iron, folate, zinc etc they are soo tasty! Medjool dates are my favorite kind as they are softer and sweeter! Besides being high in nutrients and fiber they have low GI and they actually help reducing blood sugar spikes as they help the body absorb carbohydrates slowly! Let me show you how to make it!
Ingredients
π± 20 pitted Medjool dates (less or more- completely up to you) π± Water
Directions
π± Cover dates with water and let sit over night (use enough water to completely cover them) π± In the morning strain and keep the water π± Add dates to a food processor or blender and blend into a paste! You can add a bit hot water if u want improved consistency π± Take the strained water and pour into a pot, letting it thicken up on LOW heat for about 35-40 min. You can but donβt have to strain. Let it cool off before u transfer (I forgot to do that while filming π)
Chef’s Comments
π± Paste can be happily stored in the fridge in an air tight container for about 2-3 months and syrup for up to 3 weeks! As it thickens up more in the fridge u can add little water if needed! β¨ USEβ¨ π± In baking as 1:1 substitution for dry sweetener π± Use in a salad dressing π± Sweeten up your morning oatmeal, yogurt bowl or smoothie π± Add it so soups, stews or sauces that need sweetness like BBQ sauce π± Spread it on toast or celery sticks for a healthy snack π #datesyrup #sugarfreebaking #norefinedsugar #refinedsugarfree #sugarfreetreats #healthydesserts #easyhealthyrecipes #easyveganbaking
