SNICKERS with 5 clean ingredients and no added sugar or dairy!
By @waytohealthkitchen so make sure to follow for more delicious recipes and healing tips πππ» Snickers used to be my favorite bar growing up! Never thought about reading ingredients! Once I finally did about 3 years ago when my healing journey started I was taken aback! I did not want that in my body! Now, when I feel like eating snickers- I have it ready so fast and I love that taste even more π
Ingredients
β¨ INGREDIENTSβ¨
β¨ Layer 1
π± 1 cup cashews
π± 1/2 cup pitted Medjool dates (sweetest but any work)
π± 1 tbsp vanilla extract (optional)
π± pinch of salt (optional)
β¨ Layer 2
π± 2 cups dates & boiling water
π± 1 cup nut butter (almond or hazelnut if avoiding peanut butter)- crunchy or creamy (or add chopped nuts to creamy butter if u like crunchy
π± pinch of salt (optional)
+
1/2 cup peanuts***
Melted chocolate
Directions
β¨ INSTRUCTIONSβ¨
π± Combine crust ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend. Transfer onto dish lined with parchment paper and spread evenly. Let it set in freezer while you are making next layer
π± Soak dates with boiling water for 30 minutes (do this before layer 1 so u save time) then drain & transfer into blender or processor and pulse until paste is created. Pour into a bowl, add nut butter and salt if u want and mix. I did this because i wanted the crunch so i added chopped nuts and didnβt want to blend them. If you donβt care for the crunch you can combine dates and nut butter all together in a blender/ processor and blend. Pour the batter onto the first layer, spread peanuts around and freeze for few hours or overnight
π± Melt your fave chocolate (or make mine π) by itself or with some coconut oil and dip them in then freeze again to set (15 min or so)
**** If using peanut butter please make sure itβs aflatoxin- free ππ»
